TO COUNTRY FAIR'S MAP
• To get to OCF from I-5 take Beltline West. Follow it forever and it eventually
runs into 13th st. turn right, heading west.
• Or, you can go into Eugene first (follow city center signs) and make
your way to 11th or 13th and head west. (11th funnels you onto 13th eventually)
• Continue west on 13th for 20 minutes or so, it turns into Hwy 126. Then
you enter the town of Venita.
• At the shopping mall you can either stay going straight on Hwy 126 and
the public fair entrance (Maple Gate) is about 2 miles ahead on the right.
(only open fri, sat and sun)
For workers arriving on Wed or Thurs.
• Go right on N. Territorial Rd. just before the shopping mall (where the
giant flag is, Ray’s foods, Dairy Queen, etc.)
• Go 1/2 mile till you see Hilltop Grocery and go left onto Suttle Rd.
• Wave to the nice guy who sits out on his deck with his shotgun guarding
his American Flag, usually Friday- Sunday).
• You can then go left into the fair on either Aero or Bus Rd. depending
on what they tell you to do.
• They also have a worker shuttle form Eugene. For details call Jill.
Directions to the booth
once you have reached the
fair:
BLAZING SALADS/FAIR MAP
• Park wherever the nice parking folks tell you
to park. If it is Wed or Thurs, stop buy registration first to get
your pass.
• If it is Fri, Sat or Sun take your ticket or day pass and head to the
entrance. It won’t be hard to find, just follow the thousands.
• The main entrance is between some wonderful dragon booths and takes you
right to the “Left Bank” This part of the fair is a bit meandering
so watch carefully for the first left turn at the Oregon Country Fair History
booth, where you can buy posters and t-shirts.
• This short path is a bit wooded, you will pass a tiny meadow where musicians
usually play and it will lead you to a fenced off bridge. (You don’t even
notice that you crossed the water).
• Then you end up on the bottom of the “Figure 8” (that is
the main path of the fair) next to the “Youth Stage.”
• Continue straight ahead, soon you will pass by another entrance where
the folks riding the busses come in.
• Continue to follow the path as it veers off to the right, past “Create
a Potato” and the “Gypsy Caravan Stage”
• Keep on going, soon you will pass “Energy park” and hear
the drums at the “Drum Tower.” The drums are at the “Junction” where
you can cross over to the river path, don’t be tempted, stay to the left.
• Keep on going, “Community Village” will be on your right.
• Soon the path will open up into a large meadow, this is “Main
Stage.”
• Keep heading straight and the path will lead you into an area with lots
of food booths.
• You will reach a corner where there are lots of choices of places
to go, but the best one is “Blazing Salads!” we are on the corner
on the right next to “Get Fried Rice” and across the street from
the “Pizza” place
• The intersection is called “Pooh Corner” The Sauna’s
are just around the corner. So if you get lost just ask anyone where the “Main
Stage” is, and when you get there, ask them where the “Sauna’s” are,
they will point you in the right direction and you’ll find us!
• If you are coming in on Wed. or Thurs. it is a 20 minute walk from the
parking lot.
• If you are coming on Fri, Sat or Sun it is usually at least a 1
hour journey from the parking lot to the booth, so enjoy the scenery on your
trip. |
